Iberdrola and Masdar complete turbine installation at Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm

Iberdrola and Masdar have successfully installed all 50 wind turbines at the 476 MW Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm, a key milestone in their joint venture.

Located in the Baltic Sea, the project will provide renewable energy to 475,000 households, reducing carbon emissions by approximately 800,000 tonnes annually.

Supplied by Vestas and installed by Fred. Olsen Windcarrier, each turbine has a capacity of 9.53 MW. Baltic Eagle is Iberdrola’s second major wind farm in Germany, forming part of the company’s Baltic Hub alongside Wikinger and Windanker, with a total capacity of over 1.1 GW by 2026.

This project marks Masdar’s first collaboration with Iberdrola and its first in Germany. It also represents Masdar’s largest euro-denominated financing, strengthening their partnership as they work to accelerate Europe’s green energy transition. The wind farm is expected to be fully operational soon, contributing significantly to Germany’s energy transition efforts.
