EV charging network operator Source has joined forces with Octopus Electroverse, Europe’s largest consumer EV charging platform, to make it easier for drivers to access its growing network of ultra-rapid hubs.
Under the deal, Source’s UK-wide charging locations will appear on the Electroverse map, allowing drivers to find and start a charge directly through the Electroverse app. The move is aimed at making EV charging quicker, simpler, and more customer-focused.
Launched as a new entrant in the UK’s EV infrastructure market, Source plans to install 300 ultra-rapid charging hubs across the UK and Ireland by 2030. The company says it wants to reshape the EV charging experience with faster charging, smarter technology and a “truly customer centric” approach.
Source is working with roaming providers to give drivers a choice of how they start a charge, including the newly launched SourceConnect app. The app lets users locate available chargers in real time, start a pay-as-you-go session by scanning a QR code at the hub, and track their charging progress live. Future features will include tools for fleet operators and bay booking options.
The hubs, powered by renewable energy, are designed for speed and reliability, with contactless payments, advanced interfaces, and 24/7 customer service. Source’s infrastructure is underpinned by technology from TotalEnergies and hardware from SSE.
